Seaport East Lobby

Arrowstreet / 2022-2024

As part of an interior refresh of Boston’s Seaport East lobby, this signage system needed to be modern, classy, and clean to match the new interiors, as well as functionally direct users around the space.

Research

We did an extensive study and record-keeping for our client, Pembroke, of the existing signage and their locations. This helped the teams decided what was and wasn’t needed going forward.

Interior Design

This shows the palette, finishes, and renderings of the lobby which we were tasked to design for.

Concept Design

I worked diligently alongside our co-op, Gabrielle Ramsey, to create three sophisticated concepts that pulled from different elements of the interior design. We looked at systems that worked with different materiality, finishes, and geometries that would compliment the space.

Design Development

We worked with our client to develop a hybrid of our initial concepts that suited their needs. One of our biggest challenges was the digital building directory, which the client wanted to lean elegantly against the wall at angle, creating an interesting construction challenge.

Final Installed Work

After design development, we created the design construction documentation and worked alongside the fabricator, Bluebird, to create a hidden cabinet in the wall to hold wiring, etc. for the digital directory.
